Emi Jay lists its Doe Big Effing Clip as 4 in x 1.5 in. Kitsch lists each selected Large Loop clip as 11 cm long, 4.5 cm high and 4 cm wide. France Luxe lists its Classic Rectangle barrette as 3.5 in long and 0.75 in wide. These are the selected maker dimension statements. None establishes a measured jaw opening or the amount of your hair that a clip will hold.

Do not supply a missing aperture

Do not treat the longest outside dimension as the distance between opened jaws. A body can extend beyond its holding area, and a clasp has its own geometry. The two-number Doe statement also does not provide a full three-axis storage box. We do not fill its missing dimension or relabel its 1.5 in figure as an opening.

A useful comparison record

Write exact model, color, source and dimension labels in separate fields. If opening is important, ask the maker for the actual measurement and how it was taken. Keep it unverified until that information exists. A product image, teeth count or a generic illustration is not a calibrated measurement of the maximum useful aperture.

Ask whether the maker can provide closed outside dimensions and a separately defined useful opening. Name the exact model and color in the request. Do not ask a seller to confirm a guessed capacity derived from your hair length; the dimension question should remain distinct from a personal holding outcome.
